One of AVA's key responsibilities is to safeguard animal welfare. AVA does this through enforcement of animal welfare regulations and public education on responsible pet ownership (RPO).

    Raising awareness on animal welfare and responsible pet ownership is part of developing a humane and gracious society for all. It can lead to increased empathy towards other living things, a reduction in the number of abandoned pets, and people and pets co-existing in greater harmony.
    AVA’s educational efforts are focused on spreading 5 key messages under the main theme of 'A Pet Is For Life' to the public. These key messages are:



    A multi-pronged approach is adopted for our outreach programme. This includes school talks, roadshows, mass media efforts such as print advertisements and outdoor advertisements, as well as use of new media platforms like Facebook.

    AVA also works closely with RPO Partners to promote responsible pet ownership and create greater awareness on animal welfare.
